Bio

I live in New Jersey with my husband, Joe, my son, Jackson, and my dog, Eli.  I’ve moved around a lot in my thirty years, living in a total of five different states.  I was born in Michigan, spent most of my later childhood and high school in Tennessee, attended the University of Florida for my freshman year of college, transferred to the University of Tennessee for my last three years of college, move to New York City for law school and then moved to New Jersey with my husband.  My immediate family is spread out all over the country – my parents moved back to Michigan and my brother, Chano, lives in Tennessee, which means that: (1) I miss my family and (2) I earn a ridiculous amount of frequent flyer miles.

I’ve been writing stories since the second grade.  When the time came to choose a career path, I decided to become an attorney. However, after years and years of school and studying, I realized that, although I liked being an attorney, it wasn’t my dream job. And writing novels absolutely is what I love to do.  So, I hung up the attorney hat and haven't looked back since.

When I’m not writing novels, I enjoy:

  • Spending time with my son, Jackson.
  • Drinking too much coffee.
  • Watching NHL hockey.
  • Reading.  Some of my favorite books include Wuthering Heights, Anna Karenina, Harry Potter, the Hunger Games and the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon.
  • Snow.  I’m not a fan of warm weather.  I actually hate when the weather hits above eighty degrees.  Give me a blizzard over a heat wave any day.
  • Playing with my chihuahua, Eli.
  • Having brunch in Manhattan with my girlfriends.
  • Watching horror movies.  I blame it on my dad.  He had my brother and me watching scary eighties horror movies with him at a ridiculously young age.
  • Traveling.
  • Dead Sea mud masks - try them, they are amazing.
